The Overland Park City Council approved the rezoning for development projects last week on Schlagel Farms and Metcalf Village, adding apartments, retail, restaurants and more to their respective areas.
Schlagel Farms was approved with a vote of 7-3. The project would see the development of 300 apartments, 153 townhomes and 128,000 square feet of commercial space located at 175th Street and Pflumm Road.
Next, the Metcalf Village project was approved for rezoning with a unanimous vote by the city council. The development consists of 11 buildings and four large park spaces with the addition of 900 residential units for the project. The development is located near the southeast corner of 159th Street and Metcalf Avenue.
