NPC International seeks sale, asks for $725 million

The Leawood-based company, which declared bankruptcy in July, is now asking for $725 million between its Wendy’s and Pizza Hut operations, according to plans filed in bankruptcy court last week.

Plans filed in bankruptcy court last week by NPC International reveal that the company is asking for $725 million in a sale of its Wendy’s and Pizza Hut locations.

There remains some flexibility in NPC’s sale plans, according to Restaurant Business.

The Leawood-based franchisee giant could sell the entire company off to a buyer, or, if it cannot find buyers, the company could also restructure its debt through the bankruptcy process.

As of last week’s plans, NPC is asking for at least $400 million for Wendy’s locations and least $325 million for Pizza Hut locations.

In 27 states, an estimated 386 Wendy’s units are owned by the franchisee and 1,140 Pizza Hut units.

As of its July bankruptcy filing, NPC International had a recorded estimate of around $900 million in debt.
