North Kansas City Hospital has named Dr. Collin Lovitt as the new medical staff president.
Lovitt began her one-year term on July 1, according to a release Monday. In her new role, she will be a liaison between the medical staff and the hospital system’s administration and chairs of the NKCH Medical Executive Committee.
She succeeds Dr. Keenan Berghoff, a bariatric surgeon at the Total Weight Loss Center and a surgeon with Meritas Health Comprehensive Surgery.
Lovitt has served more than 12 years with the NKCH system and serves on the Emergency Department Subcommittee, Meritas Health Hospitalist Executive Committee, and Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
She earned her medical degree from Touro University-California College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
“The health system’s physicians and hospital administration have built a relationship that is rare in our industry,” Lovitt said in the release. “I look forward to strengthening that connection because it is vital to the patient experience.”
