North Kansas City Hospital is joining the Mayo Clinic network, a global network of independent healthcare systems.
As a member of the nonprofit network, NKCH will receive access to the Mayo Clinic’s knowledge and digital solutions from the Mayo Clinic Platform. The Mayo Clinic Network carefully selects its members through a process to demonstrate their commitment to providing high-quality and evidence-based care. The network is comprised of more than 45 global healthcare organizations.
“Joining the Mayo Clinic Care Network is a historic accomplishment that will enhance our capabilities and help us continue our goal of delivering the highest level of care to our community,” president and CEO of NKCH, Dr. Stephen Reintjes, said in a Tuesday release.
NKCH will continue to operate as an independent entity.
The Mayo Clinic Platform enables NKCH to use clinical solutions and services, including AskMayoExpert, a point-of-care tool offering concise clinical information on hundreds of medical conditions, eConsults, connecting members with Mayo Clinic specialists for second opinions, eBoards, case discussions with a Mayo Clinic multidisciplinary panel and other doctors in the network, and Healthcare consulting, giving access to Mayo Clinic’s extensive experience, knowledge and subspecialty expertise to achieve clinical, operational and business goals.
NKCH is an acute care facility with 451 licensed beds and more than 600 physicians on the medical staff representing 49 medical specialties. The hospital has a team of approximatly 4,700 employees.
