North Kansas City declines partnership with Vizient

Originally announced as one of three metro hospitals to join in a statewide partnership with national health care performance company Vizient, North Kansas City Hospital has turned down the offer to participate.

At least one of three Kansas City metro hospitals has opted out of a statewide partnership with Vizient, a national health care performance company.

First announced as a statewide partnership by Missouri Gov. Mike Parson, the company is expected to help alleviate staffing issues.

In a report by 41 Action News, North Kansas City Hospital spokesperson said the hospital has, “respectfully declined to participate in the state’s staffing partnership,” with Vizient.

North Kansas City Hospital was one of three metro hospitals named in the partnership last week by Parson, along with Saint Luke’s Health System and Liberty Hospital.

Although announced as one of the three, Saint Luke’s Health System said the hospital has not yet committed to the program.

More than 700 health care workers are expected to bring relief to 12 hospitals throughout the state because of the relationship with Vizient.
