With more rain forecast early in the week, officials are carefully tracking elevation of the Missouri River, which could threaten to breach the McBaine levee. Even before the next round of precipitation could fall, flooding had started early Saturday in southern Boone County, leaving some roads impassable.
In addition, minor to moderate flooding was reported along the Grand and the Blackwater rivers. If forecasters are correct, the Missouri River could crest Monday in Jefferson City at 25 feet, nearly two feet above flood stage.
