The latest COVID-19 vaccine is beginning to roll out in the Kansas City metro designed to combat the strain omicron variant XBB.
The vaccine booster was approved by the FDA last week and residents ages 6 months and older are eligible to receive the shot.
While the Kansas City Health Department is currently waiting for its first shipment of the vaccines, residents can still book appointments at local CVS and Walgreens locations, KCUR reported.
According to the CDC, booster supply shouldn’t need to prioritize certain groups such as the elderly or immunocompromised for first doses.
