Johnson County Board of County Commissioners has approved the next phase of construction for VanTrust Real Estate’s New Century Commerce Center.
The update to the master developer plan authorizes sub-phases to the development’s phases two and three, addressing infrastructure improvements needed to move forward.
The approval gives the green light to address mass grading of the land as well as water and sewage utilities. Mass grading will take place on the southwest corner of 167th Street and Clare Road.
To supply water north of 159th Street, a 12-inch water line will be installed and new sanitary sewer lines will be installed west of Clare Road and north onto 165th Street.
About $2.6 million of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds will cover the infrastructure improvements. Additionally, $4 million in general obligation bonds, issued by Johnson County, is funding the project.
The Johnson County Board of County Commissioners only approved plans for the needed infrastructure improvements at the meeting. Future phases of the project will require additional approval from the board at a future meeting.
