VanTrust Real Estate, LLC announced it has broken ground on an additional 330,000 square feet of distribution center space at the New Century Commerce Center.
VanTrust broke ground for Building B2, the third structure located in the 535-acre commerce center, and at the time of the groundbreaking 130,000 square feet were already pre-leased, according to a release.
As part of a three-phase plan, VanTrust prepared a development-ready site in the first phase of the commerce center able to accommodate up to 1.5 million square feet with later phases adding 3.6 million square feet of space for a total of approximately 7.1 million square feet in the commerce center.
“We are excited to have broken ground on Building B2, the third building in the New Century Commerce Center,” vice president of development at VanTrust, Justin Duff said. “The pre-leasing of 130,000 square feet at the time of the groundbreaking highlights the strong demand for modern industrial facilities in this prime location. We are pleased with the significant interest from local and national tenants and are grateful for our partnership with Johnson County. We look forward to the continued success of the commerce center.”
Building A, another 330-square-foot distribution space was sold to technology company Cnano in August. Building B1 is 752,000 square feet and is currently open for purchase.
