MRIGlobal Launches New Mobile Labs in COVID-19 Times

Kansas City-based MRIGlobal has launched a new line of mobile laboratories that are designed “to address a myriad of biological and chemical threats,” the company says.

“MRIGlobal’s mobile lab solutions have become essential infrastructure to many nations and customers in diagnosing infectious diseases and other biological and chemical threats around the globe,” said Dean Gray, the director of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance at MRIGlobal, said in a press release.

One of the three, called Athena, is a mobile lab space that the company says is just as efficient as brick-and-mortar locations and is made from 20-foot-long shipping containers that can “converts to modular work space suitable for laboratory use.”

Another, Mercury, is a mobile lab that can be operated by one person. “This enables the laboratory to be taken to the sample, no matter how distant or remote the site,” says the company.
