Overland Park-based construction firm MMC Corp, and its companies, announced it will rebrand under the new name Cerris.

MMC Corp will become Cerris; MW Builders will become Cerris Builders; MMC Contractors entities and Building Control Services (BCS) will each rebrand to Cerris Systems, according to a release. Additionally, Cerris Emerging Solutions is now the organization’s new innovation arm.

“While our name is changing, the way we do business remains grounded in nearly a century of experience, long-term relationships, deeply held values, and dedication to our craft,” Cerris CEO Jason Evelyn said in the release. “From the initial idea to the first patient, student, resident, or gigabyte, we are prepared to meet the building needs of tomorrow.”

Founded in 1932, MMC Corp was a family-owned firm before becoming completely employee-owned in 2002 when the company was purchased from its founding family.

Headquartered in Overland Park-Kansas, Cerris operates 14 offices nationwide with over 1,600 employees firm-wide. Cerris reported earning $1.23 billion in revenue in 2023, a 4.15% increase compared to 2022. The firm ranked No. 32 in The 2024 Ingram’s 100: Kansas City’s Top Private-Sector Companies.
