Kansas City-based MKS had expanded its national footprint by acquiring Omaha-based Industrial Pipe & Supply.

MKS has been a family-owned distributor of pipes, valves, and fittings for over 75 years and through this acquisition, has bolstered its presence in the Midwest region. While MKS is expanding its specialized product and service offerings, it ensures that it maintains the customer relationships Industrial Pipe & Supply (IPS) has cultivated in its 30-year history, according to a release.

“They [IPS] have the same commitment to customer service excellence and employee-first culture that has driven our growth,” president & CEO of MKS, Steve Adams, said in the release. “This acquisition allows us to bring specialized products and services to markets that have been underserved while providing IPS customers with expanded access to best-in-class suppliers.”

MKS will retain IPS’s 10-person team and plans to invest in technology upgrades, professional development and expanded employee benefits.

The acquisition allows MKS to break through into the Nebraska and Iowa markets, positioning the company with another distribution point, a 2.5-hour drive from its headquarters. This proximity enables same-day delivery of custom products, including custom gaskets, addressing significant market demand in the region.

Founded in 1946, MKS is a family-owned distributor of pipe, valves, fittings, and engineered products that works to deliver most orders the day they are placed and has a standing 24-hour delivery rule.
