The University of Missouri Department of Athletics has received $25 million from an anonymous donor for the Memorial Stadium Improvements Project.

Laird Veatch, University of Missouri director of athletics, announced the department received a $25 million commitment for the project, according to a release Thursday.

The improvements, including a comprehensive renovation of the north end zone concourse, will elevate the game-day experience for fans, student-athletes and the entire university community, ensuring the stadium remains a premier venue in college football.

The $250 million project is scheduled to break ground on November 30, 2024, and be completed for the 2026 season. In April, The University of Missouri Board of Curators unanimously voted to hire Overland Park-based architecture firm DLR Group to lead the project

“This donation is a powerful testament to the passion and commitment of Mizzou supporters,” Veatch said in the release. “It brings us closer to achieving our vision for the future of Memorial Stadium and signals that we are building something truly special here in Columbia.”

Mizzou Athletics’ fundraising goal is set at $125 million for the Memorial Stadium project. With the recent donation, Mizzou Athletics has raised about $90 million.
