Many parts of the State of Missouri will reopen next week, and it’s going to be all about social distancing come May 4.
Retail stores will be able to open their doors if people are at least six feet away from each other. Stores will 10,000 square feet or less can only have 25 or their fire code occupancy filled, while larger-sized establishments must cut that number down to 10 percent.
Restaurants can also reopen, though diners must be spaced at tables six feet away from each other, and communal seating will not be allowed. The State Department of Health and Senior Services still encourages take out and delivery from restaurants.
Churches and gyms will also be able to reopen as long as social distancing is adhered to.
State buildings will also reopen to the public, as will schools, as long as social distancing is practiced, but the school year will remain cancelled.
However, local municipality rules will still apply and Kansas City is not planned to reopen until May 15.
