A survey by the Center for Digital Government recognized Missouri among the top U.S. states for its use of digital technology in state business. Missouri received a grade of “A” for demonstrating strong innovation and high-performing solutions in business and IT.

Missouri has been recognized as a national leader in digital technology best practices, according to a released 2020 Digital States Survey from the Center for Digital Government (CDG).

The CDG is a national advisory and research institute on information technology policies and best practices in state and local government.

Every two years, the group conducts the Digital States Survey. The last Digital States Survey conducted in 2018 also delivered the state an A.

The survey showed that Missouri along with Georgia, Michigan, Ohio and Utah received a grade of “A” for “demonstration of very strong innovation and high-performing solutions with verifiable impacts across all categories.”

“Our administration remains focused on how we can make state government more effective and efficient,” Missouri Gov. Parson said in a Thursday news release. “We are proud of our team for continuing to improve our data-driven and technological approach to serving Missourians, especially during this challenging year.”

Landing among the top three, Missouri was also recognized for its use of systematic, data-based analytical mechanisms and techniques to efficiently and effectively manage state business and IT functions.

In September 2020, Missouri received the CDG’s 2020 Government Experience Award for MoCareers, the state’s new applicant tracking system.
