Missouri, Kansas receive $140.7M combined in housing grants



The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded Missouri $100.5 million and neighboring Kansas $40.2 million in housing and community development grants. Funding was drawn from $5.5 billion dispersed by HUD to communities nationwide.

Missouri and Kansas communities have received a boost in funding to assist with housing and other related needs to communities state-wide.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced $100,489,419 has been granted to local programs in Missouri that provide affordable housing, development and more. Kansas programs received $40,273,722.

“These core programs provide our local partners the funding they need to provide homes and vital services to some of our neighbors in need,” Acting Secretary Matt Ammon said in a Thursday news release.

In total, $5.5 billion in funding was awarded to local programs throughout the country that provide affordable housing, community development and economic opportunity, as well as support to individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
