Missouri Getting $24M for Housing Relief

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson announced that the state is receiving $24 million in federal funding, much of which will go toward mortgage and rent-payment relief for residents.

The money would be distributed through the state’s Community Development Block Grant program and specifically go toward “eviction prevention assistance, including rapid rehousing, housing counseling, and rental deposit assistance.”

As it stands now, those with home loans through Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac can now apply for a 180-day moratorium on payments due to COVID-19-related hardships.
