Missouri establishes Show Me Strong task force for businesses

An executive order signed by Missouri Gov. Mike Parson this week has set up the Show Me Strong Recovery Task Force. The group was formed to study and develop ideas on ways to support small businesses across the state, and will be expected to submit a report on its findings at the end of 2021.

This week, Missouri Gov. Mike Parson signed Executive Order 21-06 establishing the Show Me Strong Recovery Task Force.

The purpose of the Show Me Strong Task Force is to study and develop recommendations on ways to support small businesses, including minority-owned businesses, throughout Missouri.

Parson said the state’s economy continues to come back strong after being impacted by COVID-19.

“COVID-19 had an overwhelming impact on businesses and communities across the state, but our economy continues to come back strong,” Parson said. “We have made great progress in a short amount of time, and we must remain vigilant in our efforts and ensure our small businesses have the support they need to recover and succeed.”

The task force will submit a report of its findings and recommendations to the Parson by Dec. 31, 2021, at which point the task force will be dissolved.
