Two Missouri Behavioral Hospitals to Close, 154 Layoffs

Signature Psychiatric Hospital will close two locations in Kansas City and Liberty, ending 154 positions in the health system.

Signature Psychiatric Hospital is permanently closing locations at North Kansas City Hospital and Liberty Hospital, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act notice filed on Sept. 13. The two facilities, together housing 92 inpatient beds, and will close on or about Nov. 12, 2024.

The closer of the two facilities will result in the termination of 154 employees, 124 full-time employees and 30 part-time employees. Layoffs will roll out on or before Nov. 12.
