Median sales price for Missouri homes rises 18.3 percent in Feb.



A recent report from Missouri REALTORS shows homes sold at an increased pace during the month of February. The median sales price surpassed last February’s by 18.3 percent with homes going for an average of $195,000. By the end of February, the total sales volume in Missouri topped $1.3 billion.

Missouri REALTORS has released its monthly statistics report highlighting the Missouri real estate market for the month of February 2021.

In the month of February, 5,430 homes sold in Missouri. The total sales volume topped $1.3 billion, and homes sold at an increased pace in February, staying on the market for an average of 46 days. That is 25 days less when compared to February 2020.

The median sales price for the month was $195,000. That is an 18.3 percent increase compared to February 2020.  

Additionally, interest rates in February remained steady and continue to remain historically low. According to Freddie Mac, the national average commitment rate for a 30-year, conventional, fixed-rate mortgage was 2.81 percent in February; up from 2.74 percent in January. By comparison, the interest rate in February of last year was 3.47 percent.
