Lockton Selects Former Aon COO as New EVP, Operations

Kansas City-based Lockton Companies announced Steve Goldenberg will join as executive vice president of operations.

Goldenberg joins from insurance agency Aon where he most recently served as the global chief operating officer and commercial risk solutions, according to a release. Goldenberg served a 15-year long tenure at Aon and also spent several years at McKinsey & Company.

“Lockton’s culture, client focus, and leadership team give the organization a distinct advantage around the globe,” Goldenberg said in the release. “I am excited to join Lockton, its growth story is phenomenal. I look forward to making a significant impact on the future trajectory.”

In his role, he will report to Lockton’s chief executive officer Peter Clune, and work with the global executive team to lead strategic initiatives, recruit talent and build innovative solutions to continue the firm’s growth efforts.

Goldenberg, along with his family will relocate to Kansas City in the summer, according to the release. 

Lockton is an insurance and risk management firm that ranked No. 18 on Ingram’s 100 Top Private-Sector Companies for 2023. The company has more than 1,500 local full-time employees and more than 10,000 worldwide.

The firm reached $2.72 billion in revenue for 2022, an increase of 25.93 percent compared to 2021 at $2.16 billion.
