North Carolina-based private equity real estate firm Prudent Growth Partners has purchased Douglas Square, a more than 59,000-square-foot shopping center in Lee’s Summit.

The purchase was completed for $11.6 million, according to a release. Built in 1999, the 59,451-square-foot shopping center is located on NE Douglas Street off Interstate 470 with a traffic count of 23,215 vehicles per day.

The shopping center features 18 local and national tenants including B&B Theatres Lee’s Summit 16. Douglas Square is also located adjacent to Saint Luke’s East Hospital.

“The center has a strategic location and is in a visible and active metro of Kansas City,” Prudent Growth Partners president, Tom Hahn, said in the release. “It is another good acquisition in Missouri for our investors and a wonderful addition to our portfolio.”

Prudent Growth Partners is a private equity real estate investment company based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. It focuses on properties that larger institutions tend to overlook. The firm currently owns another Missouri-based shopping center, Tori Pines Plaza, in Saint Louis.
