Lawrence Memorial Hospital Purchases Land for Expansion

Lawrence Memorial Hospital has purchased a 20-acre plot of land to build a 200,000-square-foot medical center. The site is at the northeast corner of Sixth Street and South Lawrence Trafficway.

The hospital announced a $100 million expansion plan late last year, and it will include a $64 million medical office building at the northwest Lawrence location and $30 million on renovations at existing facilities. The land sale was brokered by John Coe, senior vice president at Copaken Brooks Commercial Real Estate. “Our attention was on finding developable land in a prime location, close to the campus with an ease of access and could ultimately provide expansion if they choose to do so,” Coe said in a news release announcing the purchase.
