As of Wednesday, the number of COVID-19 patients at The University of Kansas Health System rests at 35. This is down one patient from yesterday’s total of 36, according to a news release from the health system.
Of the 35 patients admitted, 16 are currently being treated in the ICU. This number is the same as yesterday’s report. Six patients are on ventilators, also the same as yesterday.
The hospital has reported a discharge of five patients who have recovered from COVID-19, but that they have admitted four new patients as well.
Doctors have said that the length of stay for each patient is decreasing and that the health system has the bed space, PPE and drugs to handle 40-45 COVID-19 patients.
