The University of Kansas Cancer Center will open two new locations in the Briarcliff area and at Liberty Hospital, expanding its presence in the Northland.
The new cancer center locations in Briarcliff and Liberty will open this summer, according to a release. The facilities will provide quality cancer care close to home for residents in the Northland and northwest Missouri. In addition, it will expand patients’ access to clinical trials and the most advanced treatment options.
The spacious Briarcliff location will open in June 2025 and initially will provide medical oncology, as well as hematology exams and limited infusion services. Further expansion of that facility will take place in the fall, offering all oncology infusion services with an on-site pharmacy and laboratory services.
The location at Liberty Hospital is set to open in the summer of 2025. It will have a phased opening, initially offering medical oncology exams and infusions with radiation oncology coming in the fall.
The addition of the Briarcliff and Liberty Hospital sites will raise the total University of Kansas Cancer Center locations to 16 throughout Kansas and Missouri.
“We are excited to be able to extend our exceptional oncology care so that more people in the Northland will have access to nationally recognized cancer care close to home,” vice president and physician in chief at the University of Kansas Cancer Center, Dr. Jeffrey Holzbeierlein, said in the release. “Patients in the Northland deserve to have access to the very best cancer care, so we are investing and expanding to ensure even more people in our region experience superior cancer care close to home.”
