Keepers of Kansas City’s Spirit of Giving

Back again after safety protocols prevented large group gatherings a year ago, Ingram’s Philanthropist of the Year Awards Luncheon saluted Marlys and Mick Haverty on Dec. 13 in the Greg Graves Auditorium at Burns & McDonnell. Also on hand for the honors were the 2021 Local Heroes and Corporate Champions, who demonstrated exceptional giving at the individual level and exemplary corporate philanthropy in the Kansas City region. Jack Cashill served as master of ceremonies for a crowd nearly 100-strong, who heard inspirational stories about the power of giving in one of America’s most philanthropic cities. The Havertys joined a distinguished list of donors that includes Bill Dunn, Sr. and the late Henry Bloch, Kent and Charlie Sunderland, Barnett and Shirley Helzberg and John Sherman.
