Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas said yesterday that the stay-at-home order put in place last month will likely be extended beyond its original April 24 expiration.
Though Lucas said he is considering pushing the order through mid May, he still needed to have discussions with Missouri Governor Mike Parson and the leaders of the “core four” counties that make up Kansas City’s metro area before making a decision.
.“We’ve made a lot of great progress over recent weeks with our flattening the curve efforts due to stay-at-home orders, but I think it is vital for us to make sure that we don’t just have people go right back out and start all types of new concerns and new challenges,” he told KMBC News.
