Kansas City, Missouri, Public Schools students will return to in-person learning in March, according to the district.
The announcement was made Friday morning after sessions with district leaders, teachers, students and families.
Beginning March 1, staff will return to work in school buildings to prepare for students.
On March 15, students in pre-K, kindergarten, first, second, seventh and ninth grades will return to the classroom.
On March 17, all of the other grade levels will return to in-person learning as well, with the exception of students enrolled in the Kansas City Virtual Academy. Those students will continue learning from home.
The district says that staff will receive the COVID-19 vaccine in February, allowing for the return of students. If those vaccinations are delayed, it would also push back the return to in-person learning until after spring break.
