KCMO Starts Reopening Plan May 15

Kansas City, Mo., will start what Mayor Quinton Lucas is calling “responsible reopening” on May 15.

“As we continue working to increase our testing capacity and contact tracing capabilities, I implore all who can to continue working from home and to limit all non-essential outings. And, please, stay home if you are sick,” Lucas said, pointing out that several asymptomatic cases have been identified in the city.

Certain retail stores are already reopening with strict social-distancing guidelines. Lucas is expected to release guidelines for restaurant reopenings during a press conference later today. There have been 730 cases of COVID-19 reported as of the last count by the city.
