Kansas City, Mo., has released its long-awaited guidelines for reopening restaurants in the city.
Starting on May 15, establishments will be able to open for in-dining businesses as long as they follow a specific set of rules put forward by Mayor Quinton Lucas and the city’s health department.
Those guidelines include: not allowing customers or employees exhibiting symptoms to dine, tables 10 feet apart with all diners seated and social distancing by six feet, no buffets, the sanitizing of all surfaces between customers and the encouragement of carryout and delivery orders.
“We continue to encourage all Kansas Citians to limit non-essential outings, to wear masks while in public and to maintain social distancing,” Lucas said. “COVID-19 remains present throughout the greater Kansas City region, with serious potential health consequences for those infected.”
