The Kansas City Kansas Community College Board of Trustees announced it has placed the school’s president, Dr. Greg Mosier, on paid administrative leave, following a unanimous vote.

Mosier was placed on administrative leave on February 25. Additionally, board members assigned Dr. Scott Balog, executive vice president, to serve as acting President, according to a release.

Mosier first took on the role of president of KCKCC in June 2018.

“Kansas City, Kansas Community College continues to focus on providing quality education to students through academic excellence and community outreach,” said KCKCC Board Chair Linda Hoskins Sutton. “The Board of Trustees has confidence that Dr. Balog will provide strong leadership for KCKCC and those we serve.”

The college stated the reasoning for Mosier’s leave was based on “a personnel matter.” KCKCC will share updates when appropriate at a later date.

Before joining KCKCC, Mosier served as the executive vice president of academic affairs at Rochester Community and Technical College for over 3 years, vice president of academic affairs at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology for over 2.5 years, dean of career and technical education at Moberly Area Community College for 5 years and the department head for the digital and creative art center at New Mexico State University, according to his LinkedIn profile.
