In-person classes have been delayed once again for K-12 students in the Kansas City, Kan. Public School district.
The district school board voted last week, opting to continue remote learning and push back a return to classrooms until April 2021.
According to district plans, staff will return on March 22, while students would return to schools beginning April 5.
This most recent decision comes after the school district voted in October to not bring students back until after the new year, previously setting Jan. 4, 2021 as the in-person start date.
Prior to that, the initial delay was set for after Labor Day with plans to do at least the first nine weeks of classes online. The district has been in an all-virtual format since beginning the school year on Sept. 8, 2020.
Currently teaching and learning across all grades is being conducted remotely and will continue until at least April.
