Kansas City is now the home of the KC Diamonds, a Professional Softball Team that will play a 39-game season in 2026.
On Wednesday, the KC Diamonds announced their launch as Kansas City’s professional women’s softball team as part of the Professional Softball League (PSL). The Diamonds will compete as a founding member of the PSL and open their inaugural season in 2026, with their home opener set for June 17 at Legends Field in Kansas City, Kansas, according to a release.

Tickets for the Diamonds’ inaugural season will go on sale February 1.
All home games will be played at Legends Field, home of the Kansas City Monarchs. A schedule of the 2026 season can be found here.
“This is a defining moment for softball in Kansas City,” General Manager of the KC Diamonds, Jeremy McDowell, said in the release. “The KC Diamonds represent opportunity, visibility, and growth for professional women’s sports. Kansas City has already proven it shows up for softball, and now it has a team to call its own.”
During a press conference on Wednesday, KC Diamonds announced the signing of their first two professional athletes, Leah Boggs and Savanah Henley. Additional roster announcements will be made in the coming months. Teams in the PSL will carry a roster of 20 players.
The KC Diamonds are a founding member and team of the PSL, with six other teams announced. Additional teams include the Atlanta Smoke (Atlanta, Georgia), Chattanooga Chill (Chattanooga, Tennessee), Florida Breeze (Tampa Bay, Florida), Florida Heat (Viera, Florida), Florida Vibe (Bradenton, Florida), and New York Rise (New York).
