Minnesota marketing company acquires KC-based Wellington

After 26 years in operation, locally based management company Wellington has been acquired by Augeo Affinity Marketing Inc. Augeo will retain Wellington's Overland Park headquarters, employees and name, and the two will merge marketing and engagement capabilities.

Overland-Park headquartered marketing company Wellington has been acquired by St. Paul, Minnesota-based Augeo Affinity Marketing Inc..

Augeo, a larger industry player providing enterprise engagement and loyalty platforms, will take on Wellington’s locations and leave the name in its rebrand, which will be changed to Wellington, an Augeo Company.

Wellington itself is a marketing, global experience design and community building agency that specializes in creating live events.

“Our hallmark has always been delivering innovative, operationally excellent solutions. Wellington’s history of success, creativity and entrepreneurial culture are perfect complements to our business,” Augeo CEO David Kristal said. “This acquisition enables us to offer our clients the talent, technology and expertise that keeps us at the forefront of the loyalty and engagement industry and positions us as a world-wide leader in live and virtual experiences. The pandemic caused many firms to pause. We found ways to accelerate and plan to continue looking for opportunities to fuel rapid growth.”

The Minnesota company serves hundreds of clients, including 52 Fortune 500 companies.

No strangers to each other, Wellington and Augeo previously worked together on several large-scale projects.

“We worked collaboratively on a few large-scale projects the past few months and saw how the offerings of each company were complementary,” Wellington CEO Joan Wells said. “Combining forces with Augeo will enable us to expand our capabilities and reach new markets. The world of consumer loyalty, community platforms, member benefits and employee engagement is a natural growth area for our signature experiences and community building capabilities.”
