A groundbreaking for the Kansas City area-based company this week will move it from its current Lee’s Summit, Mo. location to Meritex Lenexa Executive Park in Lenexa, Kan.

The new state-of-the-art facility will employ around 450 full-time employees from subsidiary Eurofins Viracor BioPharma Services and Eurofins Transplant Diagnostics, which includes Eurofins Viracor and Transplant Genomics Inc.

Viracor Eurofins’ work involves specialized expertise in infectious disease, immunology and allergy testing for immunocompromised and critical patients, its operations helping medical professionals, transplant teams and reference labs get results faster.

Over the last several months, Viracor has provided clinical trial testing for drug makers including testing for Moderna’s COVID-19 phase 2 and 3 trials of its COVID-19 vaccine.

The company’s move will not only allow consolidation of its Lee’s Summit facilities, but it’s increased space will also allow it to add new business lines and maximize workflow.

Construction is slated to conclude in February 2020.
