Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly last night released her plan to reopen the Kansas economy in the wake of COVID-19, as the state reported 500 new cases in one day.
The first phase will look much the same as things are currently in the state. Gatherings of no more than 10 people will be allowed, people are encouraged to work from home when they can, and facilities such as bar and gyms can not reopen yet. Some retail and restaurant locations can reopen if they practice strict social distancing.
The second phase, to start no earlier than May 18, still encourages teleworking, and gyms and bars will be able to open at 50 percent of capacity. Mass gatherings of more than 30 people would not be allowed.
A full reopening would not happen until June 1.
