Kansas Receives Third Gold Shovel Award For Panasonic Plant

The Panasonic gigafactory project has been recognized for its economic developmental impact by Area Development magazine.

This award marks the third year in a row Kansas has received the Golden Shovel Award by the publication. The Panasonic factory in De Soto, named Manufacturing Project of the Year, is to bring in more than 4,000 jobs to the KC area with a price tag estimate of $4 billion.

According to the publication, Kansas lands on the EV map in a “big way”.

Panasonic was not the only project acknowledged for Kansas development, however.

  12. Clorox Co., Olathe — $22 million and 250 jobs
