Kansas opens vaccine eligibility to all residents 16 and older

Phase 5 and the last step of Kansas’ COVID-19 vaccine has begun. The phase opens vaccination eligibility to residents 16 years of age and older. Select counties across the state are also allowing residents to get the vaccine without prior appointment.

While both Kansas and Missouri have been making the COVID-19 vaccine available to more residents, the former this week has expanded eligibility to all residents 16 and older.

The expanded rule began Monday as part of Kansas’ start to its final step in the vaccine rollout, Phase 5.

The final phase allows anyone who has not yet been vaccinated and is at least 16 years old to get the shot.

Along with that, some counties including Wyandotte County is allowig its residents to get vaccinated with or without an appointment.

The Unified Government Public Health Department operates three vaccination clinics, and residents can either walk in or make an appointment.
