The Kansas City Royals finally plan to announce the location of the team’s new stadium and entertainment district during a Tuesday press conference.
Royals officials and Kansas City leaders will hold a press conference at 2:30 p.m. at the Kauffman Stadium.
There have been a number of possible locations for the new stadium including the East Village Kansas City, North Kansas City and more recently in the Crossroads district where the old Kansas City Start building is located.
In January, Jackson County legislators voted to override County Executive Frank White’s veto of the 3/8th-cent stadium sales tax question for the April 2 ballot. Funds accumulated from the sales tax would go toward the Royals’ new stadium.
Last week, the Royals began a campaign committee to raise awareness of the April ballot question, donating $500,000 to the campaign.
