Kansas City, Kan. Public Schools households currently experiencing technology and internet connection frustrations may soon get some relief through a grant that will help provide free internet service to students.
The school district is currently teaching students 100 percent virtually and is hoping to provide more assistance to students with technology issues.
Over the summer, thousands of laptops, tablets and WiFi hotspots were given out to students in the district to help them with online learning this fall, reports Fox 4 News.
With the grant, the district can now work to further help solve the internet connection problem for many families and hopes to make it available to all households with students attending a Kansas City, Kan. public school by Oct. 15.
Between 6,000 and 7,000 households will benefit from free internet service to be provided through Spectrum.
