Kansas City could potentially land the headquarters of Florida insurance company, AssuredPartners.
AssuredPartners is an operator of a mid-market insurance brokerage firm. The company offers property and casualty insurance as well as employee benefits brokerage services.
The company is seeking more incentives to remain in its hometown of Orlando, but could make a move out of the region to the Midwest.
The Orlando, Florida, City Council is scheduled to consider a request by AssuredPartners Inc. for more than $1.02 million in incentives.
According to the Orlando City Council agenda, AssuredPartners also is considering Austin, Kansas City and Lake Mary for its headquarters. The filing includes no details about these other contenders. But they provide some leverage as AssuredPartners asks Orlando to increase its incentives from a previous $800,000 offer.
AssuredPartners is an insurance brokerage with operations in more than 300 offices in the U.S., United Kingdom and Belgium. Business Insurance ranks it as the 11th largest U.S. brokerage, based on $1.43 billion in 2019 U.S. brokerage revenue. That’s one spot ahead of Kansas City-based Lockton Cos. LLC, based on $1.425 billion in U.S. brokerage revenue.
