St. Louis-based Kadean Construction, with a presence in Kansas City, has made several leadership changes for the company.

As part of the firm’s leadership restructuring, Kadean will consolidate its operations into three pillars, including industrial, healthcare, and commercial business units, according to a release

Founded in 1963, Kadean Construction is a national commercial contractor based in St. Louis with offices in Kansas City and Philadelphia. In 2024, Kadean generated $331 million in annual revenues. In 2018, Kadean entered the greater Kansas City area with the addition of an office in the Crossroads District at 1821 McGee St.

Aaron Retherford has been promoted to President of Kadean Construction. The role of the president was previously held by Mike Eveler, the CEO of Kadean. In this role, Retherford will oversee enterprise strategy and organizational alignment while leading the Industrial Business Unit. Retherford first joined the firm as vice president of business strategy in 2020.

“Our Business Unit model is designed to provide clarity for our clients and alignment across our teams,” Retherford said in the release. “By organizing around the markets we serve, we can better connect strategy, preconstruction, and project delivery, giving clients a more predictable and transparent path from concept through completion.”

Travis Mulder will now assume the role of vice president following Retherford’s promotion. Kadean’s Healthcare Business Unit operations have been under the leadership of Travis Mulder, and as part of his new role, Mulder will also oversee the firm’s Commercial Business Unit within the St. Louis and Kansas City area.

“Our industry-aligned structure builds on what Kadean already does best,” Eveler said in the release. “It allows us to engage earlier, listen more closely to our clients’ goals, and bring the right expertise to the table from day one. This approach supports our client-centric mindset by positioning Kadean as a trusted resource and long-term partner, not just a builder.”
