Since most states are facing budget shortfalls, the same goes for their K-12 schools.
Both Kansas and Missouri have announced revenue shortfalls and are on a list of states that could see budget cuts to public school systems.
“If you can’t start saving money now, you’ll have to start saving more, and possibly more suddenly, once school starts at the end of the summer,” said Marguerite Roza, a professor at Georgetown University, according to Education Dive.
