“I feel fortunate that the market has taken off like it has over the years and that a second generation can guide us into the future,” Kevin Jones said in the release. “As a result, competition has grown stronger and we’ve had to stay true to our core value of being an honest, hardworking organization that is a strategic partner, not just a firm that builds a functional box. I am confident that Nick’s leadership and expertise will help propel Jones Development’s continued growth and success.”

Jones Development has developed nearly 20 million square feet of industrial space nationwide with an aggregate value of approximately $2 billion.

“I’m honored to follow in Kevin’s footsteps and lead such a talented team,” Nick Jones said. “Looking forward, I’m eager to continue building on our successful brand and leveraging our depth of experience to move quickly and thoroughly. Our collective knowledge and insights are what gives clients confidence in working with us.”

Coinciding with the firm’s announcement of leadership restructuring, the firm is also aiming its projects to fall in line with what it believes is the trajectory of the industrial real estate market.

The firm’s project in Olathe, a 149-acre development, known as Free State Exchange, includes plans for two speculative buildings totaling 1.66 million square feet to be anchored by a $200M Wal-Mart beef packing facility. Additionally, it is developing two separate lots in Liberty, totaling 11 and 16 acres respectively.

The firm also has projects currently under development in Tampa, Florida; Orlando, Florida; Greenville, South Carolina; Dallas, Texas; Indianapolis, Indiana and Detroit, Michigan.

“We look to continue our strategy of acquiring well-located land sites and developing high-quality industrial facilities throughout the United States,” Nick Jones said.
