Job centers continue to open in Missouri

Centers open with virtual options still available for Missourians as part of the department’s Return Strong initiative.

Several Missouri Job Centers are now open to the public after four openings this week, according to a news release from the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development.

On Monday, June 29, the Branson Job Center opened as well as job centers in Kennett, Park Hills and Poplar Bluff. The reopening of these locations involved staff returning to in-person work on Wednesday, July 1, the release said.

Missouri Job Centers will continue to open up across the state in the coming weeks as part of the Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development’s Return Strong initiative.

Centers will be open for in-person services, but social distancing and other health guidelines will remain in place.

Job Center staff are prepared to assist with training opportunities, career services, resume writing and required unemployment job searches, according to the release. Individuals currently receiving unemployment benefits may be eligible to receive free training vouchers of up to $4,000 to skill up or retrain.

The department is also hosting two virtual job fairs to help connect Missouri businesses with job seekers. The events will be held July 22 and Aug. 5. Employers interested in being a part of the virtual events can sign up at https://jobs.mo.gov/virtual-job-fair-employer-registration before July 13.
