Jackson County Public Health (JCPH), formally Jackson County Health Department, has decided to relocate Independence to a building in Lee’s Summit.
The department made the announcement Monday stating the new location will better suit the agency’s service.
This strategy stems from the agency’s former main office home, the City of Independence, which established its very own Health Department for the City of Independence in the wake of the pandemic in 2020.
The JCPH Lee’s Summit office, located at 3651 N.E. Ralph Powell Road, will bring a plethora of offers such as expanded waiting and registration areas, lactation rooms and ADA-compliant clinical rooms.
Furthermore, the department will continue to provide routine vaccinations, HIV and STI testing, tuberculosis skin tests, physicals, birth and death certificates and free ongoing COVID-19 and flu testing.
The new main office is already home to Jackson County’s Environmental Health Department and the Women, Infants and Children program.
