Husch Blackwell Plans To Double its Minneapolis Office

Husch Blackwell adds team from Minneapolis-based Patterson Thuente IP.

Kansas City-based Husch Blackwell announced it will absorb Minneapolis-based Patterson Thuente IP, which will see Husch Blackwell’s Minneapolis office more than double in less than a year.

The addition of Patterson Thuente will include 11 attorneys and nearly 20 additional law clerks and business professionals who will join the firm effective Jan. 1, 2024. The firm’s Minneapolis office will have nearly 50 employees—22 of whom are attorneys—in practice areas including IP, energy and natural resources, data privacy and corporate, according to a release.

“The Twin Cities continue to be a priority growth market for us, and the Patterson Thuente attorneys have a strong reputation and will provide our new and existing clients a full suite of intellectual property offerings,” Husch Blackwell CEO Paul Eberle said. “We’re delighted to have them join our firm.”

Husch Blackwell’s Minneapolis office opened in May 2023. Husch Blackwell has added more than 100 attorneys firmwide in 2023 to date.
