Hub International acquires KC Insurance Group

Global insurance broker, Hub International, has bought assets of Overland Park-based KC Insurance Group LLP. The latter offers a variety of insurances including auto, home, umbrella and more. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed, and KC Insurance Group will join the Hub Mid-America region.

Hub International Ltd., a Chicago-based full-service global insurance broker, has acquired the assets of KC Insurance Group LLP. The Overland Park-based independent insurance agency specializes in personal lines of insurance, including auto, home, renters, boat, motorcycle and umbrella insurance.

According to a Monday release, KC Insurance Group owner Cory Schnabel and his team will join Hub International. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

KC Insurance Group’s six employees will join Hub International’s Kansas City office, which was created when the company acquired Truss LLC, a Kansas City-based commercial insurance and employee benefits brokerage, in 2019.

The new additions bring Hub International’s local employee count to 109, Paul Cohen, Hub area president for Kansas City, told the Kansas City Business Journal.

Hub said in the release that it’s “committed to growing organically and through acquisitions to expand its geographic footprint and strengthen industry and product expertise.”
