The Aladdin Hotel, one of Kansas City’s historic towers, is prepping for a slew of renovations that will transform the building into 122 residential apartments.
The $38.5 million renovation project is scheduled to begin on January 22. It will transform the 16-story building into 122 apartments featuring high-end finishes and over 12,000 square feet of amenity space, including a craft cocktail bar, speakeasy, fitness center and spa room.
Molzer Development is leading the construction of the project until May 2026, when the project is expected to be completed. Approximately 70 new construction jobs and 10 full-time positions will be created from the project, according to Molzer Development.
Additionally, the $120 million Barney Allis Redevelopment project will develop an underground tunnel that connects the Aladdin to the upcoming Barney Allis Plaza and Garage in downtown.
Erected in 1925, the Aladdin attracted prominent figures such as Mickey Mantle, Greta Garbo and Al Capone and was recognized as one of Kansas City’s most innovative places to stay.
Molzer Development is led by Zach Molzer and is partnering with Kansas City-based Cardinal Crest Homes and Wisconsin-based Free Heel Capital on this project.
