This week, North Kansas City Hospital and its subsidiary, Meritas Health, announced it will be raising its minimum wage to $15 per hour. The raise will take effect this month.

North Kansas City joins two other metro hospitals within the last two months that have announced a similar raise.

“We value all our employees and the incredible work they do on behalf of those we serve,” North Kansas City Hospital CEO Dr. Reintjes Sr. said. “Providing a more equitable minimum base wage is the right thing to do.”

NKCH and Meritas Health employees, including patient care technicians, transporters, receptionists, dietary and environmental services workers, and other staff at the hospital and Meritas Health locations, will benefit from this wage increase, according to a news release from the hospital.
